What is the Ego Authority?
You can only have this Authority as a Projector or Manifestor. The prerequisite is that the Solar Plexus, Sacral and Spleen Centers are open and the Heart/Ego Center is defined. This is a fairly rare Authority that comes with great openness in the chart. Due to the associated high susceptibility to influence, distractions can easily occur.
Your truth lies in your will. This shows itself in what you say. You must therefore learn to listen to yourself. The difficulty here is distinguishing when the mind speaks and when your Ego Center speaks. What spontaneously and uncensored bursts out of your throat corresponds to your truth - not what you think. The mind always serves the open Centers, where your Not-Self operates. There, it is usually about the interests of others.
When you do something that truly matters to you, you also have the willpower to achieve your goals and keep your promises. Consistently following what you want can appear selfish to others. It is important that you stand by yourself here. For you, it is also always about ensuring that what you do pays off for you in some way. This is not only, but also about the will for material success and possessions.
In another, less materialistic variant, it is about the will to be first, to face special challenges, to cross boundaries and to leave conventional paths. After achieving a goal, it is necessary to pause. Continuous working will not lead to desired results but to unhealthy exhaustion and illness.

FAQ about Ego Authority
What is Ego Authority in Human Design?
The Ego Authority is based on a defined Heart/Will Center and is one of the rarer authorities. It comes in two forms: Ego Manifested (Heart connected to Throat - found in Manifestors) and Ego Projected (Heart connected to G Center - found in Projectors). Decisions are made based on what the heart truly desires and what serves one's willpower.
How do I make decisions with Ego Authority?
The key question is: "What do I truly want?" and "Is this worth my commitment?" The Heart Center operates through willpower and material drive. Listen to what your heart consistently desires, not what your mind thinks you should want. The Ego Authority knows its own worth and capacity for commitment.
What is the difference between Ego Manifested and Ego Projected Authority?
Ego Manifested Authority has a direct motor connection from the Heart to the Throat, found in Manifestors who can hear their truth by speaking spontaneously about what they want. Ego Projected Authority connects the Heart to the G Center, found in Projectors who need to be invited before committing their willpower to a direction.
How rare is Ego Authority in Human Design?
Ego Authority is among the rarest inner authorities, found in only a small percentage of the population. It requires a defined Heart Center without a defined Solar Plexus, Sacral, or Spleen Center taking precedence. People with this authority have a powerful connection to their own willpower and material needs.
