Inner Authority
Your Inner Authority shows you how to make correct decisions for your life. It is the most reliable compass for your personal truth.
Why is Authority important?
In Human Design, decisions are made not from the mind but from your body's own intelligence. Your Authority shows you which part of your body carries this wisdom.
Core Instruction
Wait for emotional clarity. Do not make important decisions in the heat of the moment.
Description
You are subject to an emotional wave that manifests as a permanent up and down of your feelings. You always see the world colored by your current mood. In one moment you are totally excited about something, in the next you see the same thing completely negatively. Your feeling in the moment is however only a snapshot, a first impression. This impression is not necessarily your truth yet. Therefore, quick, spontaneous decisions made from emotion can have very negative consequences.
The more time you take to let a decision mature, the deeper and more comprehensively you can perceive something. This requires patience and sleeping on a decision multiple times. You should really take your time and let yourself be asked several times. Over time, the intense feelings subside, you gain emotional distance and clarity and serenity set in. Then you have gone through the process. This is of course primarily important for long-term decisions that can have a major impact on the course of your life.
Core Instruction
Respond to life with your gut feeling. Pay attention to the uh-huh and uhn-uhn sounds.
Description
The prerequisite is that the Solar Plexus Center is open. Sacral Authority manifests as a gut voice or a surge of energy in response to an external stimulus. Learn to pay attention to your body sounds, which can manifest as grunting, humming, groaning, or in an "uh-huh" or "un-un." When your sacral motor has responded to something, you feel vital, alive, have seemingly inexhaustible energy available and do your work with great enthusiasm. You are born to go through life with joy and satisfaction and to be fully immersed in your activities without ulterior purpose.
When the Spleen Center is activated and perhaps directly connected to the Sacral Center, it represents a co-Authority to the Sacral Center. Such a person can react and make decisions particularly quickly and spontaneously. They have immediate access to their physical well-being and instinctive perception, which they can reliably let guide them.
Core Instruction
Trust your spontaneous instinct. The Spleen speaks only once - in the now.
Description
The Spleen Center is our health and alarm system. You possess an excellent survival intelligence that manifests as spontaneous inner knowing of whether something is right for you or not. Your instinct, your intuition and also your physical well-being are reliable indicators of whether you are in the right environment, the right situation or company. Decisions must therefore be made in the moment. The first, spontaneous impulse is the right one and directly serves your health. This makes you capable of taking very good care of yourself and rigorously protecting yourself against harmful influences of all kinds.
However, this splenic voice is a very subtle impulse that comes only once in the moment. Therefore, it can easily be ignored and drowned out by other influences. This requires high alertness. A retreat for decision-making can also be helpful.
Since you can only know in the moment what is right for you, and plans can therefore change at short notice, it can be difficult to make longer-term decisions. You should commit to as little as possible and prefer to arrange things spontaneously. You need a lot of freedom and flexibility in your life.
Core Instruction
Ask yourself: What do I really want? Follow what your heart desires.
Description
Your truth lies in your will. This shows itself in what you say. You must therefore learn to listen to yourself. The difficulty here is distinguishing when the mind speaks and when your Ego Center speaks. What spontaneously and uncensored bursts out of your throat corresponds to your truth - not what you think. The mind always serves the open Centers, where your Not-Self operates. There, it is usually about the interests of others.
When you do something that truly matters to you, you also have the willpower to achieve your goals and keep your promises. Consistently following what you want can appear selfish to others. It is important that you stand by yourself here. For you, it is also always about ensuring that what you do pays off for you in some way. This is not only, but also about the will for material success and possessions.
In another, less materialistic variant, it is about the will to be first, to face special challenges, to cross boundaries and to leave conventional paths. After achieving a goal, it is necessary to pause. Continuous working will not lead to desired results but to unhealthy exhaustion and illness.
Core Instruction
Speak your thoughts out loud and listen to your own voice.
Description
Your inner truth lies in your identity. Decision-making is possible in two ways. First, by having conversations with yourself, or conversations with other people when you are invited. The most important thing is that you listen to yourself in the process. The key is to distinguish when your Self is truly speaking versus your mind. What you say spontaneously and without thinking expresses your true being. Through this self-expression, you can simultaneously become recognizable to others in your uniqueness.
The other possibility is a gentle pull below your breastbone that draws you in a certain direction. You may feel geographically or internally drawn toward or away from something based on your interests. When you recognize your own direction in life and faithfully follow it, you can also become a direction-giver for others. That is where your specific potential for success lies.
Core Instruction
Use outer Authority - speak with trusted people and listen to what you say.
Description
Mental Projectors (approximately 1.7% of humanity) have no center activation below the Throat Center. Reflectors (approximately 1-1.5% of humanity) have no defined center at all.
As a Mental Projector, you find your decision by exchanging with many different people. In dialogue with others, the energetic interactions in your open Centers that take place in that moment activate the dormant potentials there and provide you with certain information. This allows you to view a matter from many different perspectives and express it in various ways. Your high resonance capacity in your openness is your great potential here, also for finding the right environment and the right people for this exchange.
The evaluation of this information is a fairly complex process that takes time and for which you should be alone. Over time, you can recognize the common thread, distinguish what makes sense and what belongs to you. This allows you to develop your specific intelligence of filtering the essential out of a mass of information and organizing and structuring it meaningfully. That is your success capital as a Projector.
As a Reflector, your decision-making is connected to the lunar cycle. This means that for important decisions, you should give yourself approximately 28 days. That is how long it takes for the Moon to travel once through your complete BodyGraph. This creates the same reliable conditioning patterns over and over, providing you with orientation about who you are and what belongs to you. You should therefore never let yourself be pressured into decisions.
As with the Mental Projector, a key factor in your life is being in an environment where you feel comfortable. There you are with the right people with whom you can trustfully exchange about decision processes. Over time, this deepens your sense for what is right for you.
