Core Instruction
Trust your spontaneous instinct. The Spleen speaks only once - in the now.
What is the Splenic Authority?
For the Spleen Center to be inner Authority, the Solar Plexus and Sacral Centers must be open. Therefore, only Projectors or Manifestors can have this Authority.
The Spleen Center is our health and alarm system. You possess an excellent survival intelligence that manifests as spontaneous inner knowing of whether something is right for you or not. Your instinct, your intuition and also your physical well-being are reliable indicators of whether you are in the right environment, the right situation or company. Decisions must therefore be made in the moment. The first, spontaneous impulse is the right one and directly serves your health. This makes you capable of taking very good care of yourself and rigorously protecting yourself against harmful influences of all kinds.
However, this splenic voice is a very subtle impulse that comes only once in the moment. Therefore, it can easily be ignored and drowned out by other influences. This requires high alertness. A retreat for decision-making can also be helpful.
Since you can only know in the moment what is right for you, and plans can therefore change at short notice, it can be difficult to make longer-term decisions. You should commit to as little as possible and prefer to arrange things spontaneously. You need a lot of freedom and flexibility in your life.

FAQ about Splenic Authority
What is Splenic Authority in Human Design?
The Splenic Authority is based on a defined Spleen Center without a defined Solar Plexus or Sacral Center. It is the oldest awareness center and communicates through spontaneous instinct, intuition, and body consciousness. The Spleen speaks softly and only once - in the present moment.
How do I make decisions with Splenic Authority?
The Splenic Authority communicates through subtle, spontaneous impulses that are felt physically. It can be a sudden knowing, a slight shiver, or a body sensation telling you something is or is not right for you. The challenge is that it speaks only once and does not repeat, so you must be attentive in the moment.
Which types can have Splenic Authority?
Splenic Authority primarily occurs in Projectors and Manifestors who have a defined Spleen Center but no defined Solar Plexus or Sacral Center. It is one of the rarer authority types and gives those who have it access to a deep, primal instinct for survival and wellbeing.
How does Splenic Authority differ from gut feeling?
While the Sacral response (gut feeling) is a strong, visceral reaction in the belly, the Splenic awareness is subtler and more instinctive. It operates in the moment and relates to health, safety, and primal awareness. The Spleen can signal danger or rightness through very quiet physical sensations that require practice to notice.
