How Do I Make the Right Decisions?

Every person has a unique way of making correct decisions. In Human Design, we call this the "Inner Authority". It is your most reliable guide - regardless of what the mind tells you.

What is Inner Authority?

Your Inner Authority is the part of your design that reliably shows you whether a decision is right for you. There are seven different Authorities in Human Design, and each works in its own way.

Emotional Authority (about 50% of all people) means you should not make spontaneous decisions but rather wait out your emotional wave. Sacral Authority manifests as a clear gut response - an "Uh-huh" (yes) or "Un-un" (no). Splenic Authority is an immediate, intuitive knowing in the moment.

Other Authorities include Ego Authority, Self-Projected Authority, Mental Authority, and Lunar Authority. Each has its own mechanism and timeframe.

Why the Mind is Not a Good Decision-Maker

In Human Design, the mind is a brilliant tool for thinking, analyzing, and communicating - but it is not designed to make life decisions.

The mind is heavily influenced by Conditioning: by what others expect, what society dictates, what seems "reasonable". Your Inner Authority, on the other hand, is free from these influences and shows you what truly suits you.

When you learn to trust your Authority instead of your head, you will find that decisions become easier and feel right - even when they sometimes contradict what seems logical.
