Throat Center

The Throat Center is the center of manifestation and communication in Human Design. It is closely connected to the thyroid and parathyroid glands and plays a decisive role in the materialization and transformation of energy in the body. The function of the Throat Center is to put our thoughts, feelings and insights into words and carry them out into the world. It is the place where our individual voice arises and we can connect authentically and uniquely with others.

When the Throat Center is defined, we know from which center in our Design our voice comes. This enables us to express our words and actions with the right intention and timing. We can rely on our Strategy and know when to speak or act to communicate our truth effectively. People with a defined Throat Center have a clear and reliable voice that helps them convey their personality and values authentically.

When the Throat Center is undefined, we have no fixed rules or guidelines for our communication. We often feel pressure to say or do something to gain attention or manifest something. It can be difficult to wait for the right moment and recognize that we don't always have to say or do something. People with an open Throat Center can learn to enjoy their voice and accept that it can be spontaneous and unexpected. They can feel relaxed and confident when they wait and rely on their Strategy to act at the right moment.

The Not-Self Theme of the Throat Center is: "Are you still trying to attract attention?" People with an open Throat Center tend to wonder if they are getting enough attention or if they are being noticed at all. To deal with this, it is important to rely on one's own Strategy and Authority and accept that we don't always have to do or say something to convey our values and personality.
