Biography
Polish/French author of Jewish origin and survivor of Nazi persecution. She won the Prix Goncourt in 1962 for Les bagages de sable (translated as "THE LOST SHORE"), which concerns a concentration camp survivor. She died on 12 May 1966 in Paris, at age 46.
