Biography
Norwegian musician and songwriter best known for his work as the main songwriter and guitarist in the Norwegian pop band A-ha, which has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. He has written or co-written most of the band's biggest hits, including "The Sun Always Shines on T.V.," "Hunting High and Low," "Take On Me," the James Bond theme "The Living Daylights," and the ballad "Summer Moved O.n" In addition, he is also a painter.
He met American filmmaker and musician Lauren Savoy in 1984, and they married in a civil ceremony on 21 December 1991. The couple combined surnames to create Waaktaar-Savoy. They have one child together, True August Waaktaar-Savoy, born in 1999. The family divides its time between New York City and Oslo.
