Biography
Together with Lorenz Nieberl pushing and braking they won the two-man event. When both German 4-man-teams, rivals since their pre-war youth, only qualified in mid-field, they decided to join forces. With Friedrich Kuhn and Franz Kemser, the heaviest members of the other team that withdrew, bob "Deutschland I" won all four heats. The Gold medallists had a combined weight of 472 kg, or an average of 118 kg per person. The rules were soon altered, introducing a limit of 400 kg. The German movie Schwere Jungs (2007) is based on their story.
Ostler won four medals at the FIBT World Championships with two golds in 1951 and two silvers in 1953 at home in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, each time both in two-man and four-man.
Ostler carried the flag of Germany during the opening ceremonies of the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, when Germans took part as United Team of Germany.
After he retired from bobsleigh, Ostler became a gastronomer (Chef). He died on 24 November 1988 at age 67 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
What does Projector 6/2 mean for Andreas Ostler?
Andreas Ostler is a Projector in Human Design – a non-energy type designed to guide and direct others. Projectors make up about 20% of humanity and have a special gift for recognizing and directing the energies and talents of others.
The Projector's strategy is to wait for the right, respectful invitation before contributing their guidance. Without an invitation, the Projector's wisdom is often unrecognized or even rejected.
When Andreas Ostler lives in alignment with their design, they experience success and recognition. The Projector's not-self theme is bitterness – a sign that their wisdom and guidance isn't being valued.
Andreas Ostler carries the profile 6/2 – Role Model / Hermit. The 6th line represents the Role Model: a life path in three phases – first experimenting (until ~30), then observing from the "roof" (until ~50), and finally authentically embodying the role model. The 2nd line represents the Natural: a natural talent that is often unconscious and only activated when called out by others.
The incarnation cross "Left Angle Cross of Distraction 2" describes the overarching life purpose and direction of Andreas Ostler in Human Design. It consists of the four gate activations of Sun and Earth (personality and design) and only becomes felt when one lives their strategy and authority.
