Biography
The son of noted poet-journalist Rene Tavernier, Bertrand started out as a law student for two years. His passion of cinema brought him back to the theater, writing film reviews. Following his co-founding of a cinema club, he entered the industry as a publicist with collaboration on a number of books.
Directing a few short films from 1963, he collaborated on a number of scripts with a first feature film in 1974. A director of grand style action, intimacy and dynamic visual style, Tavernier went on to make over 25 films, winning the French top award, "Le Prix Louis Delluc."
Tavernier was married to screenwriter Claudine (Colo) O'Hagen from 1965 to 1980. They have two children. Their son, Nils Tavernier (born 1 September 1965), works as both a director and actor. Their daughter, Tiffany Tavernier (born in 1967), is a novelist, screenwriter and assistant director. Bertrand Tavernier died on 25 March 2021 at age 79 in Sainte-Maxime, France.
Human Design Analysis: Bertrand Tavernier as Projector 3/5
Bertrand Tavernier is a Projector in Human Design – a non-energy type designed to guide and direct others. Projectors make up about 20% of humanity and have a special gift for recognizing and directing the energies and talents of others.
The Projector's strategy is to wait for the right, respectful invitation before contributing their guidance. Without an invitation, the Projector's wisdom is often unrecognized or even rejected.
When Bertrand Tavernier lives in alignment with their design, they experience success and recognition. The Projector's not-self theme is bitterness – a sign that their wisdom and guidance isn't being valued.
Bertrand Tavernier has Ego Authority – a very rare authority. The heartbeat and willpower of the Ego Center set the tone. The truth shows in what Bertrand Tavernier says and promises. It's about listening to one's own voice and noticing what the heart truly beats for.
Bertrand Tavernier carries the profile 3/5 – Martyr / Heretic. The 3rd line represents the Experimenter: learning through trial and error, embracing life as a practical experiment and growing wise through experience. The 5th line represents the Hero and Savior: others project expectations and hopes onto this line, which can deliver practical solutions for universal problems.
The incarnation cross "Right Angle Cross of the Unexpected 1" describes the overarching life purpose and direction of Bertrand Tavernier in Human Design.
