John Krasinski

American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who became known for his role as Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcom "The Office" (2005–2013), on which he also served as a producer and occasional director, and which earned him two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

He co-wrote, directed, and starred in the critically and commercially successful horror-thriller film "A Quiet Place" (2018), for which he was nominated for the Critics' Choice Movie Award and Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay. He directed, co-produced, and wrote the sequel, "A Quiet Place Part II" (2020), for which he won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Horror Movie.

His other film credits include "License to Wed" (2007), "Leatherheads" (2008), "Away We Go" (2009), "It's Complicated" (2009), "Something Borrowed" (2011), "Big Miracle" (2012), and "Promised Land" (2012).

He went to Brown University to study English and graduated in 2001 as a playwright with the honors thesis "Contents Under Pressure." During his time at Brown, he was a member of the sketch comedy group Out of Bounds.

He is married to British actress Emily Blunt, who starred with him in "A Quiet Place" and "The Wind Rises." They have two children together.
