Pozzo di Borgo published an autobiographic book, Le Second Souffle (The second wind) in 2001, in which he describes the drama of his life and his return into it, including the rediscovery of love. The successful French movie Intouchables (2011) is based on this book.
Pozzo di Borgo lived in Morocco, where he died in Marrakesh on 1 June 2023 at the age of 72.
