Tore Vik

Norwegian basketball player and civil architect who played at the national top level from 1964 to 1974 during which he became the first to play 25 international basketball matches for Norway. He was selected for the country's very first national team - for the Nordic Championship in Copenhagen at Easter 1966. He then played all international matches until December 1970, and was the first to be presented with the NBBF's prize for achieving 25 international matches. He then declined further national team appearances.

As a player for Bærum Basketballklubb, he became league champion in 1968 and Norwegian champion in 1972, 1973, and 1974. During his studies he played for NTHI in Trondheim, which took silver in the national championships 1970 and silver in the premier division in 1969, 1970, and 1971.

He became an authorized B-referee in 1965 after completing the country's first referee course. He was an active referee in league matches in parallel with his own playing career. He was chairman of Bærum BBK 1967-68 and participated at the founding meeting of the Norwegian Basketball Association in January 1968.

Vik was chairman of the board of directors of the Oslo and Akershus Basketball District 1997-2003. He was a coach and team manager for age-specific boys' teams in EB-85 in the period 1985-1993.

He worked as a civil architect until 2013.
