Biography
Waldeyer's name is sometimes associated in neuroscience with the so-called "neuron theory" and for popularizing the term "neuron" to describe the basic structural unit of the nervous system. Waldeyer used the path-breaking discoveries by neuroanatomists (and later Nobel Prizewinners) Camillo Golgi (1843–1926) and Santiago Ramón y Cajal (1852–1934), who had used the silver nitrate method of staining nerve tissue (Golgi's method) to formulate a short brilliant synthesis, even though he did not contribute with any original observations.
This method allowed them to study in exquisite detail the branching processes of nerve cells (axons anddendrites) and how they seemed to interconnect among themselves, forming chains and neural networks which could explain the physiological mechanisms underlying the phenomena of information transfer between neurons. Waldeyer learned Spanish in order to absorb Cajal's extraordinary detailed studies using Golgi's method and became his friend, mentor and promoter in the German-dominated field of microscopic anatomy. The theory was published in a series of papers in the main medical journal of Germany, Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift, which became extremely influential. However, as Cajal points out, though Waldeyer "supported the theory with the prestige of his authority, he did not contribute a single personal observation. He limited himself to a short brilliant exposition of the objective proofs, adduced by His, Kölliker,Retzius, van Gehuchten and myself, and he invented the fortunate term neuron.
What does Reflector 5/1 mean for Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz?
Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz is a Reflector in Human Design – the rarest of all types at only about 1% of humanity. Reflectors have no defined centers in their bodygraph and therefore mirror their environment. They are the mirror of society.
The Reflector's strategy is to wait at least one complete lunar cycle (about 28 days) before making important decisions. During this time, the moon transits all 64 gates, providing the Reflector with clarity.
When Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz lives in alignment with their design, life unfolds with surprise and wonder. The Reflector's not-self theme is disappointment – a sign of being in an environment that doesn't suit them.
Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz is a Reflector with no inner (body-based) authority – because not a single center is defined. Instead, the lunar cycle is the most reliable decision-making compass. By waiting a full lunar cycle of about 28 days while talking with trusted people, the right decision crystallizes.
Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz carries the profile 5/1 – Heretic / Investigator. The 5th line represents the Hero and Savior: others project expectations and hopes onto this line, which can deliver practical solutions for universal problems. The 1st line represents the Investigator: a deep need for a solid foundation and thorough knowledge before feeling secure.
The incarnation cross "Left Angle Cross of Endeavour 2" describes the overarching life purpose and direction of Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried Von Waldeyer-Hartz in Human Design. It consists of the four gate activations of Sun and Earth (personality and design) and only becomes felt when one lives their strategy and authority.
