Biography
American disability rights activist, film producer, and former educator who has been Chairman of Special Olympics since 1996 and is the founder of UNITE, a national initiative for bringing Americans across divides together in common purpose to address universal challenges that can only be solved together.
He is a member of the Kennedy family as the third child of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics, and Sargent Shriver, who helped found the Peace Corps.
He married Linda Potter (born on 13 January 1956) on 31 May 1986. They had three girls and two boys: Rose (1987), Timothy (1988), Samuel (1992), Kathleen (1994), and Caroline (1997).
His mother Eunice died on 11 August 2009. His father Sargent died on 18 January 2011.
