Biography
American swimmer and a seven-time Olympic medallist (two gold, four silver, one bronze). She is a former world record holder in the 200 m breaststroke (long course).
At the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games, she won the Gold Medal in the 100 m Medley Relay on 24 July 1996, the Silver Medal in the 100 m Women's Breast stroke on 21 July 1996, and another Silver Medal in the 200 m Women's Breast stroke on 23 July 1996.
Beard is a vegetarian. She is married to photographer Sacha Brown. On 15 September 2009, she gave birth to their first child, a boy named Blaise Ray Brown. Their daughter, Doone Isla Brown, was born on 19 June 2013.
