It provided excellent survival intelligence, showing immediate knowledge of whether something served or harmed him. His instinct and physical well-being were reliable indicators of the right environment. Decisions therefore had to be made in the moment; the first impulse was the right one and directly served his health. This allowed him to take good care of himself and rigorously protect against harmful influences. Since this impulse was very fine and only occurred once in the moment, it required high vigilance not to miss it. A retreat could be helpful in decision-making. Since the right thing was only known in the moment, plans could change short-term.
