American actress, singer and model, daughter of actress Lisa Bonet and rock musician Lenny Kravitz, born at home. Zoë's birth was attended by a midwife, her 23-year old father, Lisa's mom and Lenny's dad. The labor was about 14 hours, starting at noon.

She appeared in the fourth season of the TV show "Californication", and in the 2011 movie, "X-Men: First Class". This was followed by roles in The Divergent Series and Mad Max: Fury Road. Since then, Kravitz has had supporting roles in such films as The Lego Batman Movie and the Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a role she reprised in its sequel, as well as starring roles in independent films, like Dope and Adam Green's Aladdin. Since 2017, Kravitz has also starred in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies. Aside from acting, Kravitz was the face of Vera Wang's Princess fragrance, and has modeled for Venus Zine and Elle. She also fronts the band Lolawolf, who released their debut album Calm Down in 2014.

Since 2016, Kravitz has been in a relationship with actor Karl Glusman. In an interview for the November 2018 issue of Rolling Stone, Kravitz announced that she and Glusman became engaged in February 2018.

Zoë Kravitz — Manifestor with Profile 4/1

HD Mechanics · Chapter 1/9

Manifestor 4/1 — Design at a Glance

Zoé Kravitz's design establishes a foundational stance as a pioneer and visionary, oriented towards setting new directions. As a Manifestor, she acted like a driving force, not executing every step herself but setting others in motion - similar to an Emperor sending his soldiers to expand his realm. This configuration often placed her in a position where she was misunderstood, as her thoughts and plans extended further than those around her. She polarized: some followed her enthusiastically, others rejected her visions.

The central mechanics of her design lie in the strategy of informing. Before she acted or enforced her intentions, it was crucial for her to timely and precisely inform her environment about her plans. This served to find the right 'followership' and minimize unnecessary resistance. If Zoé Kravitz followed this strategy and respected her inner authority, her system rewarded her with a feeling of inner peace. Living against this design, however, she felt instead a persistent, deep anger. Her path was thus marked by the tension between the necessity to clearly communicate her visions and the experience of being both loved and rejected because of these great dreams.

Emotional Authority

Zoé Kravitz's design establishes a tendency towards emotional wave movement, which determines her inner authority. As a carrier of Emotional Authority, she was subject to a permanent up and down of feelings, coloring the perception of the world through the current mood. What appeared inspiring in one moment could be felt negatively in the next. This mechanism meant that an immediate emotional impression was only a snapshot, not necessarily the truth. Quick, spontaneous decisions based on such emotions thus carried the risk of having a negative impact.

The strategy of her design required patience and time. By letting decisions mature and sleeping multiple nights, she could level out the intense feelings. Only with this emotional distance did clarity and calmness set in. This process was particularly crucial for long-term, life-changing decisions. Emotional Authority always took precedence over other defined centers, regardless of what else was active in the chart. Zoé Kravitz thus showed herself as someone who had to learn through waiting and deliberation to reach deeper, more comprehensive understanding, rather than being guided by first impressions.

The 4/1 Profile — Opportunist / Investigator

Zoé Kravitz's design establishes a tendency towards deep rooting: as a 4/1-Networker/Researcher, she possessed the only fixed profile, meaning her essential nature hardly deviated from her individual path. This structure marks the transition from 'I' to 'You'. Her 4-line gave her a big heart, but it also protected itself from injuries. Well-meaning impulses for change from the outside were often blocked, as she neither could nor wanted to change her nature. People who questioned her acceptance were cautiously excluded. Externally, this often appeared as stubbornness or inability to accept criticism, which challenged her self-confidence. Stabilized by this realization, however, she became a rock in the storm, capable of magnificently teaching others.

Her transpersonal line (Gate 9) served the externalization and influence. Under stress, this required disciplined concentration on details, while the focus of the second generation was in skipping details to quickly bring things to the outside. The foundation of her mental processes (line 1 from Gate 64) consisted in finding and sharing the key point in confusion. Without the availability of Gate 47, no progress was possible. The pressure of Mars often led to rash actions here, which intensified the confusion rather than clarifying it.

Split Definition — Defined & Open Centers

Zoé Kravitz's design is characterized by a consistent, trustworthy mental function and a clear, stable self-identity. With defined Ajna Center and defined G Center, she had a stable internal compass and the ability to coherently structure concepts. This mental constancy was complemented by a defined Throat Center, allowing her to reliably translate her thoughts and inner direction into speech and action. The combination of defined Heart Center (Willpower) and defined Root Center (Stress Management) gave her the energy to keep promises and actively move forward in the world. Additionally, the defined Spleen Center provided an intuitive, momentary perception of what is healthy and protective.

At the same time, her system was marked by open centers that generated specific sensitivities. The open Head Center made her vulnerable to mental confusion and the pressure to find answers to questions that were not her own. She tended to be inspired by others' inspiration rather than relying on her own constant mental source. The open Sacral Center meant that she did not have a consistent energy flow but instead absorbed and amplified the vital energy of her environment. This led to her easily overextending herself when trying to work on borrowed energy rather than listening to her inner authority and resting. Her challenge lay in using the clarity of her defined system to avoid falling into the conditioning traps of the open centers.

Channels for inspiration, community, logic and bold action.

Zoé Kravitz's design tends towards exemplary, individual leadership that manifests through authentic presence. This is evident in the Channel of Inspiration 1-8, which connects the G Center with the Throat Center. Here, no explanation is needed; life itself serves as a demonstration of creative mutation power. Those who carry this channel inspire others to live out their own uniqueness by stepping boldly out of the crowd and drawing attention to themselves.

Parallel to this, the Channel of Awakening 10-20 reveals a deep connection to the present moment. It also connects the G- with the Throat Center, but through the Gate of Appearance and the Gate of Now. This configuration expresses the original essence of being: “I am.” Survival and thriving depend on loving and accepting oneself in every moment. This inner wakefulness radiates outward and encourages the environment to be itself without words.

In the cognitive area, the Channel of Acceptance 17-62 operates. It links the Ajna Center with the Throat Center and organizes visual patterns into logical language. Details are translated to create understanding. Anything that does not fit into the inner worldview is not understood. This requires patience and the right timing when speaking to avoid resistance and foster clarity.

Emotionally and willfully, the Channel of Community 37-40 shapes interaction. It connects Solar Plexus and Heart Center and seeks the place in the whole. Here, it is about fair agreements and mutual support. Success arises through emotional clarity over time, not through spontaneous decisions.

Additionally, prioritized Gates support this structure: Gate 9 in the Sacral Center provides the power for precise refinement through repetition. Gate 16 enables mastery through continuous experimentation. In the mental area, Gate 64 interprets past experiences to gain clarity, while Gate 63 drives the process of improvement through doubt. Gate 11 uses visual memories for situational assessment, and Gate 44 manages resources through vigilant transformation.

Individual Circuitry — Circuit Signature

Zoé Kravitz's design tends towards impulsive inspiration that flows directly into her identity. The Knowledge Circuit connected her Throat and Identity Centers through the Channel of Inspiration. This created a direct stream of creative ideas that immediately became self-definition, without prolonged deliberation.

Parallel to this, the Understanding Circuit worked in two separate strands. One connected the Ajna- with the Throat Center, translating logical strategies into clear communication. The other strand connected Spleen- and Root Centers, fostering intuitive security and physical endurance. This separation showed that rational planning and inner intuition ran alongside each other in Zoé Kravitz, but did not directly merge.

The Ego Circuit connected Throat, Heart, and Solar Plexus Centers. Here, it was about the joint creation of resources and mutual support. The connection of Heart (Will) and Solar Plexus (Emotion) through the Throat Center allowed emotional waves to be channeled into joint projects, but pauses for regeneration were necessary as there was no direct life force from the Sacral Center.

Finally, the Integration Circuit again connected Throat and Identity Centers, this time through Awakening. This strengthened the ability to draw strength from reacting to life and make it into self-confirmation in the present moment. Overall, these shared, partially parallel energies painted a picture of someone who acted through inspired identity, strategic clarity, and cooperative emotions.

Juxtaposition Cross of Focus

Zoé Kravitz's design points to a tendency towards an intense, polarizing presence. This configuration, the Focal Cross Juxtaposition, acts like a magnetic anchor that draws attention but is often characterized by apparent contradictions or extreme opposites. It is not a uniform radiation but a force that arises from the tension between different poles.

For Zoé Kravitz, this meant that her presence was often perceived as captivating but also challenging. The Focal Cross describes an energy that does not strive for harmony in the conventional sense but for the clear, sometimes shocking, presentation of truth or reality. It is an energy that does not dilute things but shows them in their purest, often most contradictory form.

This mechanism shaped her way of operating in the world: she drew attention to herself not through conformity but through the unmistakable projection of her own, often complex inner landscape. The attention she received was rarely superficial; it touched deeper, often uncomfortable issues. Zoé Kravitz was someone who could endure and carry this intense focus, which filled her interactions with the environment with a special, often penetrating quality.

Saturn Return — Life Cycles

Zoé Kravitz's design points to a tendency towards strategic positioning and the search for recognized structures. Her configuration shows a person who does not simply act but carefully waits for the right opportunity to enter established systems. This is reflected in her life phase where she focused on building a solid foundation before taking bigger steps.

In 2017, at the age of 29, Zoé Kravitz was admitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). This event marks the first Saturn Return, a cycle that in Human Design mechanics is seen as a phase of condensation and structuring. During this time, which often begins in the late twenties, years of groundwork and learning are condensed into a viable result. Admission to this prestigious institution is no coincidence but a typical expression of this developmental phase: individual work finds its confirmation in an official framework. The Saturn Return demands stabilizing one's achievements and laying a solid foundation for future life stages. Zoé Kravitz showed herself to be ready to harvest the fruits of her previous development and anchor them in a recognized structure. This underscores the importance of having patience in this life phase and waiting for the right time to enter existing systems and establish one's position there.

HD Mechanics · Chapter 9/9

Manifestor · Emotional Authority — Synthesis

Zoé Kravitz's design shows a deep continuity in the connection between inner authenticity and outer expression. As a Manifestor with emotional authority and the 4/1 Profile, she navigates the world with a clear, though developing, inner voice (defined Ajna Center). This combination creates a person who is designed to go and lead new paths (Manifestor, Channel 1-8), but always from a deeply rooted, authentic core (4/1 Profile). The ability to form and communicate concepts is strengthened by the defined mental component, leading to a steady flow of ideas and perspectives.

Central to her design, however, is a paradox between the desire for individuality and the need for connection. The Knowledge Circuit, which promotes creativity and transformation, stands in tension with the cautious, protective heart of the 4-line. This points to a person who is destined to bring mutative energy into the world (Channel 1-8), but at the same time exhibits a deep vulnerability and the need for selective connection. A notable event, admission to an influential community (2017, age 29), could be an expression of this tension field - public recognition of expression while maintaining inner integrity.
