Emotional Authority

Eric Burdon displayed a fundamental attitude characterized by emotional wave movements: His perception of the world was always colored by his current mood state. At one moment, he could be totally enthusiastic about something, only to see it completely negatively in the next situation. These fluctuations were not instability but an expression of his inner authority – Emotional Authority.

In Human Design, a defined Emotions Center is always the inner authority, regardless of which other Centers are also defined. This means for Eric Burdon that his feelings provided the decisive compass for decisions. His open Heart Center made him sensitive to the pressure of proving his worth through willpower, often leading to cycles of promises and disappointment.
