As a manifesting generator, Max Blokzijl had a defined Sacral Center. This gave him a steady energy base but required the strategy of reacting rather than initiating. He needed to respond to impulses before acting. The danger lay in moving too quickly ahead and having to make up for missed steps later, which often caused frustration – his specific non-self theme. Additionally, he tended to pursue multiple projects simultaneously by responding to various impulses at once.

Success came only when he exercised this versatility in the "play mode" while maintaining constant resonance with his Sacral Center. Only with inner agreement – the clear "yes" of energy – did his creative power remain satisfying. Without this confirmation, initial enthusiasm quickly turned into exhaustion. His design allowed him to enjoy variety and work parallelly, provided he regularly checked whether the projects continued to have his inner approval. This way, he could draw deep satisfaction from his work instead of blocking himself through skipped stages or lack of focus.

Sacral Authority

Max Blokzijl oriented himself in his decisions towards a clear inner authority: Sacral Authority. As a Generator, his strategy – reacting to external impulses – was identical with this authority, which simplified his decision-making process. Instead of cognitively analyzing situations, he relied on physical signals like a grunt or sudden surge of energy as responses to environmental stimuli. This "gut feeling" signaled to him whether a situation would release energy. When his sacral motor kicked in, he felt vital and acted with great enthusiasm. He lived to perform tasks with joy and without rigid purposefulness, fully immersing himself in what resonated with him.

Additionally, an active Spleen supported this reaction. Through the direct connection or activation of the Spleen Center, Max Blokzijl could make particularly quick and spontaneous decisions. He had immediate access to his instinctive perception and physical well-being, which allowed him to reliably guide himself by these impulses. This mechanism enabled him to react without hesitation to what enlivened him, thus efficiently deploying his inexhaustible energy.

The 1/3 Profile — Investigator / Martyr

Max Blokzijl's design inclined him to accumulate knowledge not just theoretically but to validate it through direct, often painful practice. As a 1/3 (Researcher/Experimentor), he lived in the tension between the deep desire for complete preparation and the necessity of proving himself through mistakes. His Line 1 promoted humility and adaptability; it required him to accept his place in hierarchies to avoid oversensitivity to external corrections. At the same time, the energy of Line 3 pushed him out of balance. This trial-and-error process was not an obstacle for him but rather the essential means of gaining insight. By laying down projections of possible futures as present and instead collecting real experiential values, he developed a judgment that was both intellectually grounded and empirically tested. When Max Blokzijl made an assessment, it was based on this double testing: the quiet research of Line 1 and the bold experimentation of Line 3. This integration created high credibility because his conclusions did not stem from pure thought but from lived reality. Split Definition — Defined & Open Centers

His defined Ajna Center ensured a steady mental process; he was always in the process of thinking and conceptualizing, independent of external influences. This mental stability flowed directly into his also defined Throat Center, making his communication a reliable manifestation of his thoughts. He spoke from a clear source, which allowed him to carry his inner processes outward.

His defined G Center gave him a firm identity and sense of direction. This was coupled with a strong, defined Heart Center that provided willpower and ego. Max Blokzijl had the energy to keep promises and use his resources self-determinedly. The connection of these centers with the defined Sacral Center meant enormous vitality. He possessed a constant energy reserve but relied on reaction; his strength was most effective when he responded to inquiries or situations rather than initiating them.

At the same time, two open centers shaped his experiential world. His open Head Center made him receptive to inspirations and doubts from the environment without having a consistent internal source. He tended to engage with questions that did not necessarily originate from him, which could lead to mental overload if he tried to solve everything immediately. Similarly, his Solar Plexus Center was open, leading him to absorb and amplify emotions from his surroundings. Max Blokzijl had to learn not to personalize these felt waves as his own but rather see them as transient information from the environment to remain emotionally stable.

Channels for meaning, structure, awareness and determination.

Max Blokzijl's design tended towards constant authentic presence. The Awakening Channel 10-20 connected the G Center with the Throat Center; it expressed the wisdom that self-love and acceptance are vital for survival. By simply being himself, he inspired others to be themselves often without realizing it. This clarity protected him from resistance and criticism.

Material mastery and willpower characterized his attitude. The Money Line 21-45 connected the Heart Center with the Throat Center. It carried responsibility for material control and hierarchy, where Gate 21 represented the Hunter and Gate 45 the Gatherer. He worked best as his own boss to maintain his natural rhythm and avoid stress in the heart.

Innovative structuring of knowledge was evident through the Structuring Channel 23-43 between Ajna and Throat Centers. This channel formed unique perspectives; Gate 43 brought spontaneous insights that were assimilated and expressed through Gate 23. His thinking often felt ahead, but it required patience until others understood and accepted his innovative concepts.

A stubborn fight for life's meaning and individuality was characteristic. The Life Struggle Channel 28-38 connected the Root Center with the Spleen Center. Gate 38 pressed for individual integrity against external forces while Gate 28 recognized which struggles had value. This determination gave him purpose, even if it wasn't always accepted by others.

Persistent discovery through experience rather than logic completed the picture. The Discovery Channel 29-46 connected Sacral and G Centers. Gate 29 offered endurance through positive affirmation while Gate 46 allowed being in the right place at the right time. He learned only from lived experiences; only in retrospect did the meaning of his discoveries become clear.

Individual Circuitry — Circuit Signature

Max Blokzijl's design tended towards highest individuality and acoustic presence in the now. The Integration Circuit connected his Throat with Identity Center (Gate 20/10), making intuition and proper behavior in the present effective. This stood alongside two separate pieces of the Knowledge Circuit: a connection from Ajna to Throat Center (Structuring) as well as from Spleen to Root (Life Struggle). This configuration promoted creative flashes and the expression of unique identity without directly merging them with intuition.

Parallel existed in the Meaning-Making Circuit a connection between Identity and Sacral Centers (Discovery), which used emotional waves from the past to enable collective learning. As Max Blokzijl had a split definition, these centers did not form a continuous energy chain but rather existing parallel forces: The left chart half (Head through Sacral) acted independently of the right (Spleen/Root).

The Ego Circuit finally connected Throat with Heart Center (Money Line), emphasizing cooperation and resource creation. As there was no connection to the Sacral Center, this system required necessary pauses for regeneration. The tension between individual transformation in the now and reflective learning from the past shaped his energetic profile, interrupted by the need for pauses in the ego area oriented towards resources.

Right Angle Cross of the Vessel of Love 4

Max Blokzijls design carried the structure of the right cross of the Love Vessel. This configuration formed a deep, archetypal backdrop for his existence. It did not act as a direct lever for everyday actions or specific personality traits in a narrower sense. Instead, it created a fundamental resonance that permeated his innermost being. The right cross of the Love Vessel refers to a particular quality of connection and devotion. It is a static factor in the chart, not a dynamic mechanism like channels or gates. Therefore, it shaped Max Blokzijls essence more subtly than overtly. There were no specific instructions for his daily behavior. The dynamics of this cross remained effective in the background. They did not determine how he reacted or acted. Rather, they were part of the static landscape of his design. This structure offered no concrete path to self-actualization through action. In 1913, at age 29, he went to Berlin as a journalist correspondent. This coincided with his first Saturn return, a cycle that often translates years of groundwork into concrete professional structures and solidifies new responsibilities. Eight years later, in 1921, he married his third wife Hermine Eleonore Behle. This step coincided with the Uranus opposition, a phase traditionally causing deep changes in interpersonal bonds and breaking old patterns to allow for new relationship realities.

Another turning point occurred in 1935 when he secretly became a member of the Dutch NSB. At age 51, he was experiencing his Chiron return. In Human Design mechanics, this is not a healing process in a clinical sense but a phase of fulfillment and bloom where one's incarnation cross – if lived according to strategy – makes its meaning tangible and brings life purpose into full realization.
