She has been dancing since she was ten. After she was crowned Miss Volgograd in 2008, she moved to Cologne, Germany in 2008, learned German and from 2010 studied business administration at the University of Cologne (Bachelor 2014) and at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (Master 2018).

From 2008 to 2014 she danced with Paul Lorenz as amateurs in Germany. In 2012 the dance couple achieved international breakthrough with the EU Cup and the World Cup.

In 2013 she debuted in the RTL show Let's Dance as Paul Janke's partner and they reached third place. In 2014 she was eliminated with dance partner Patrice Bouédibéla after the first round. In 2015 she danced with Matthias Steiner and suffered a supination trauma (ankle) in the final. The couple took third place. In 2016 she retired with the former beach volleyball player Julius Brink after the tenth round. Then she won three years in a row: 2017 with Gil Ofarim, 2018 with Ingolf Lück and 2019 with Pascal Hens.

Ekaterina Leonova as a Projector 2/4 in Human Design

HD Mechanics · Chapter 1/9

Projector 2/4 — Design at a Glance

Ekaterina Leonova revealed through her design as someone who can immediately recognize weaknesses in systems and relationships. As a projector, she possesses a dense, focused aura that shines like a bright light on areas others have yet to illuminate. This ability makes her a natural problem solver but also carries a risk: when she expresses her observations without invitation or tact, it often feels like blinding light to those around her, quickly triggering defensive reactions.

The mechanics of her design teach an elegant alternative to directly pointing out errors. Instead of correcting others, it is more effective for her to simply radiate harmony and brightness herself. Through this emanation, she attracts others who then seek advice from her voluntarily. Her strategy thus involves patiently waiting for a respectful and honest invitation before sharing her knowledge.

Since projectors lack a defined sacral center, they do not have a constant energy source. Ekaterina Leonova experiences phases of high productivity followed by necessary rest periods for regeneration. Ignoring these rhythms leads to burnout quickly. If she lives according to this principle and waits for invitations, she is rewarded with success. Deviating from it results in the feeling of non-self turning into bitterness, which blocks her natural flow of energy.

Splenic Authority

Ekaterina Leonova demonstrated a fundamental stance of intuitive spontaneity: Her inner knowledge about what is healthy and right appeared as a sudden, clear impulse in the present moment. This ability stemmed from her authority in the spleen center, a system that only activates for projectors or manifestors with open emotional and sacral centers.

The spleen served here as a highly sensitive health and alarm system. It provided Ekaterina Leonova with reliable survival intelligence that was not revealed through logical reasoning but rather by an immediate sense of physical well-being or discomfort. Whether she found herself in a situation, environment, or society, this first impulse decided her course. It directly protected her and enabled her to rigorously shield against harmful influences.

Since this spleen voice was a very fine signal that only appeared once at the moment, its use required high vigilance. Other external influences or thoughts could easily overshadow this impulse. Therefore, it was crucial for Ekaterina Leonova to sometimes briefly withdraw to clearly hear this inner voice.

This mechanism made long-term commitments difficult. Since she only knew what was right in each moment, her needs and plans could change short-term. Her design thus required much freedom and flexibility. Instead of submitting to rigid structures, Ekaterina Leonova functioned best through spontaneous decisions that reflected her current health state and intuitive security.

The 2/4 Profile — Hermit / Opportunist

Ekaterina Leonova revealed a constant interplay between the deep need for withdrawal and the urge to connect with her closest community. Her design created tension that prompted her to structure her energy in phases: first creating a protected space for herself, followed by a conscious opening to others.

This dynamic results from her Profile 2/4. Line 2, often referred to as the 'Hermit', projects an outwardly caring aura that attracts others while Ekaterina Leonova internally seeks self-sufficiency and clarity. In this phase of isolation, she processes information and gains inner peace. Only once this need is satisfied does line 4 become active. This 'Community' line requires social exchange to make experiences truly valuable. For Ekaterina Leonova, this meant that her insights during alone time were validated and refined through conversations with friends and trusted companions.

The key to her well-being lay in clearly communicating her boundaries. She had to learn to signal when she sought company and when she needed solitude. Without this transparency, line 2 risked turning into dependence on care or 'vampirism'—unconsciously draining the energy of others—while line 4 was pressured to conform and lose fantasies in collective processes. Through awareness of this rhythm, Ekaterina Leonova could utilize her network's knowledge, reflect it within her cave, and make grounded decisions from there. Her success depended on accepting these seemingly contradictory needs not as a conflict but as a necessary sequence.

Single Definition — Defined & Open Centers

Ekaterina Leonova revealed herself through a reliable, firm self-identity and a clear sense of direction in life. Her defined G Center gave her the ability to love others without becoming dependent on them, as well as the natural trait of showing others new perspectives or paths. Simultaneously, she possessed a steady willpower through her defined Heart Center; she determined her own resources, kept promises, and sought recognition for her contribution, preferring to follow her own inner rhythm rather than being directed by others. This internal structure was complemented by her defined Spleen Center, which allowed her an intuitive, momentary perception. She trusted spontaneous judgments and instincts in the 'now,' giving her a deep sense of well-being and health that she could only utilize by not allowing her mind to override these subtle physical signals.

In contrast, Ekaterina Leonova was open in several areas and thus vulnerable to external conditioning. Her open Head Center allowed her to function without constant mental inspiration; she tended to identify with questions or doubts of others rather than recognizing them as non-self. Similarly, her open Ajna Center: She could take on myriad ideas but risked interpreting concepts as her own truth or pretending to feel more certain than they actually did. Her open Throat Center led to inconsistent communication; instead, she often sought attention through speaking, rather than waiting for natural invitations. Particularly defining was her open Sacral Center: She lacked constant generative energy and instead absorbed the life force of others, amplifying it. This led to easy overloading as she intuitively did not know when 'enough' was enough, often working until exhaustion set in. Her open Solar Plexus also absorbed the emotions of the environment, which could lead to inner unrest if she personalized these foreign feelings. Finally, her open Root Center took on external stress, tempting her to try and rid herself of this non-self pressure through hyperactivity.

Channels for pioneering spirit and instinctive devotion.

Ekaterina Leonova exhibited a fundamental stance that used competitiveness as a tool for individual expansion. This trait is rooted in the Initiation Channel 51-25, which connects the Heart Center with the universal love of Gate 25 via the shock of Gate 51. Here initiation becomes an art: She possessed the ability to recognize the potential for individuation in others and, when invited, provided the necessary impulse to move them forward. This channel promotes a natural competitiveness that not only calls on the individual but also the tribe to further develop and transcend boundaries.

Simultaneously, Ekaterina Leonova displayed an instinctive vigilance anchored in the Devotion Channel 44-26 between Spleen and Heart Centers. Through Gate of Vigilance (44) and Gate of Egotists (26), she had a deep tribal memory and the gift to intuitively assess others. She could recognize what people needed – often before they knew it themselves – and offer appropriate solutions or ideologies. As an entrepreneur in this sense, she functioned as a promoter who generated resources and supplied the team, with her willpower aimed at maintaining the tribe's viability and implementing improvements.

Additionally, Gate 27 marked a genetic care that enriched all activities with warmth and promoted self-preservation. Gate 28 brought the ability to weigh risks in the here and now and persistently listen to maintain personal sense. Gate 41 propelled her evolutionarily from experience to experience while helping her maintain a certain coolness despite emotional fluctuations. Gate 31 supported her in transferring powers and leadership tasks. In the background, Gate 13 with its reflective perspective on collective memory as well as Gate 21, which seeks control over material things and demands respect for the community's service, were at work. Finally, Gate 48 enabled her to recognize deep patterns and identify necessary foundations for the common good, even if this was often accompanied by frustration.

HD Mechanics · Chapter 6/9

Individual Circuitry — Circuit Signature

Ekaterina Leonova revealed herself as someone with a firm inner compass who lived out her own individuality clearly. This fundamental stance stemmed from her Centering Circuit. Through Channel 25-51 (Initiation), her Identity Center and Heart Center were directly connected in her, linking her divine identity closely to self-worth. The result was a brave, fortified personality with strong convictions. She radiated: 'I am who I am.' However, the lack of connection to the Throat Center in this circuit often made these firm inner values hard to articulate.

Parallel to this, the Ego Circuit worked through Ekaterina Leonova via Channel 26-44 (Devotion), connecting her Heart Center with her Spleen Center. This promoted a stance of devotion and support within collaborations. It was about creating resources together through clear communication and mediation skills. Since there was no connection to the Sacral Center in this circuit, she lacked constant generative energy. Therefore, rest periods were essential for her to build new energy for these supportive activities.

Although both circuits touched on the Heart Center, they formed separate energetic streams due to their simple definition. The inner firmness of the Centering Circuit and the cooperative devotion of the Ego Circuit existed side by side as different forces in her design without directly flowing into each other.

Right Angle Cross of the Unexpected 1

Ekaterina Leonovas design indicates a tendency towards unpredictable turning points, often manifesting as sudden insights or surprising changes in her environment. This configuration does not describe a linear development but rather a pattern where the unexpected becomes the central driving force.

The right cross of the Unexpected 1 marks an energy that is guided by spontaneous impulses and unforeseen opportunities. It's a structure that finds stability not in predictability, but in the ability to respond to the unexpected. Ekaterina Leonova was someone whose path was marked by moments where old plans were replaced by new, often unexpected possibilities.

This mechanism does not mean chaos, but rather a specific kind of navigation: Through openness to the unexpected, doors that were previously invisible become apparent. The challenge lies in accepting these sudden changes not as disruptions, but as necessary parts of the process. Ekaterina Leonovas design challenged her to hold fast to no rigid expectations, but instead use the energy of surprise to push into new directions. The power of this cross lies precisely in the fact that the unexpected is not fought against, but used as a source for further development.

Saturn Return — Life Cycles

Ekaterina Leonovas design indicates a tendency towards intense physical presence, which was confirmed in 2015 at age 28 through a painful turning point. In this year, she danced with Matthias Steiner and suffered a supination trauma in the final that still led to third place. This incident marked her first Saturn return, a phase where years of groundwork often condenses into a solid but challenging result. For her system, this was not just an accident, but the concrete effect of a life task: testing the limits of her own body under pressure and gaining structure from it. The injury in the final showed that her energy worked where the highest demands for stability and endurance were placed. The Saturn return challenges in this configuration to not only take up the position gained through hard work but also to maintain it under strain. Ekaterina Leonova was someone whose development was closely linked with physical proof. The experience of pain while simultaneously placing showed the mechanics of her design: success here does not come from effortless gliding, but rather through enduring friction and the ability to defend the achieved position even after setbacks. This shaped her further attitude towards discipline and physical integrity as central pillars of her identity.

Projector · Splenic Authority — Synthesis

Ekaterina Leonova seems to be guided by a deep inner clarity that manifests in her ability to recognize and encourage the potential of others (Channel 25-51). This tendency to bring light into darkness is inseparable from a natural sense of direction and self-identity (defined G Center), which allows her to be authentic and strengthen others in their individuality. Her energy projects onto the environment, intuitively perceiving where improvements are needed – a pattern that is reinforced by the profile as a natural talent/networker, oscillating between the need for solitude and connection with a chosen community.

At the same time, the design reveals a central paradox: the necessity to distance oneself while simultaneously seeking deep connections with other people. The Spleen Authority requires spontaneous decisions in harmony with one's own well-being, while the Centering Circuit emphasizes strong convictions and individuality – an inner drive that can contrast with the need for community (Line 4). A documented event that marked a turning point was a crisis in 2015 (Saturn return), triggered by a supination trauma during a competition leading to third place.
