Biography
Gaudi was excessively pious, especially as he grew older. He used to shuffle around the streets of his city nibbling on crusts of bread and seeking alms for the building of the Sagrada Familia. He hated liberalism and was devoted to the most penitential and reactionary in Spanish Catholicism. Gloomy, short-fused and arrogant, he was untroubled by the Christian concept of humility. A misogynist, he never married and probably died a virgin.
He died 10 June 1926, Barcelona, Spain after being hit by a train. He had lived such a private life, that when his body was picked up, authorities assumed that he was just another homeless vagrant.
In 1992, a movement began to stir in Barcelona among the city's Catholic hierarchy to push for the beatification and eventual canonization of Gaudi. Virtuous and pious he may have been, but sainthood requires strong evidence of miracles, and though Gaudi has left breathtaking beauty behind, he has no track record of providing divine intervention.
What does Manifestor 1/3 mean for Antoni Gaudi?
Antoni Gaudi is a Manifestor in Human Design – the only type designed to initiate things independently. Manifestors make up only about 9% of humanity and are naturally independent.
The Manifestor's strategy is to inform others clearly and early enough about their intentions before taking action. This reduces resistance and allows the Manifestor's natural impact to unfold freely.
When Antoni Gaudi lives in alignment with their design, they experience deep peace. The Manifestor's not-self theme is anger – a sign that the natural urge to initiate is being suppressed or obstructed.
Antoni Gaudi has Emotional Authority – the most common authority. Decisions should never be made in an emotional high or low, but only when emotional clarity settles in. "Sleep on it" is meant literally here. The emotional wave needs time to run its course.
Antoni Gaudi carries the profile 1/3 – Investigator / Martyr. The 1st line represents the Investigator: a deep need for a solid foundation and thorough knowledge before feeling secure. The 3rd line represents the Experimenter: learning through trial and error, embracing life as a practical experiment and growing wise through experience.
