Biography

French actor, writer and director. Born of Russian decent, his father wanted him to learn the fine arts to go in business with him in art restoration.

Drawn away by sports, Tati played professional rugby with the famous Racing Club team for a short while. He turned music and cabaret into a mime comedy work of art, which became an immediate success. Several of his show pieces turned into short films with Tati writing and producing.

His first milestone film "Jour de Fete" was released in 1949 with comic style and visual humor. Troubled by financial problems and large debts, Tati only produced six films throughout his career but they spanned three decades. Two of his other great successful movies were "Mon Oncle" in 1958 and "Playtime" in 1968.

Tati was noted for his wonderful talents of wit, humor and humanity. As a director, he was devoted to painstaking preparation of all of his films.

He died on 4 November 1982 Paris, France.

The Human Design of Jacques Tati: Manifestor 6/2

Jacques Tati is a Manifestor in Human Design – the only type designed to initiate things independently. Manifestors make up only about 9% of humanity and are naturally independent.

The Manifestor's strategy is to inform others clearly and early enough about their intentions before taking action. This reduces resistance and allows the Manifestor's natural impact to unfold freely.

When Jacques Tati lives in alignment with their design, they experience deep peace. The Manifestor's not-self theme is anger – a sign that the natural urge to initiate is being suppressed or obstructed.

Jacques Tati has Emotional Authority – the most common authority. Decisions should never be made in an emotional high or low, but only when emotional clarity settles in. "Sleep on it" is meant literally here. The emotional wave needs time to run its course.

Jacques Tati carries the profile 6/2 – Role Model / Hermit. The 6th line represents the Role Model: a life path in three phases – first experimenting (until ~30), then observing from the "roof" (until ~50), and finally authentically embodying the role model. The 2nd line represents the Natural: a natural talent that is often unconscious and only activated when called out by others.

The incarnation cross "Left Angle Cross of Endeavour 2" describes the overarching life purpose and direction of Jacques Tati in Human Design. It consists of the four gate activations of Sun and Earth (personality and design) and only becomes felt when one lives their strategy and authority.
