Pohl metaphorically retreated into a 'cave' to reflect on the preceding experiments with great calmness. This time was not a passive pause but a process of healing and deep self-awareness. Here he processed earlier mistakes to distill wisdom from them.

At the same time, his design contained potential for extreme reactions when interfered with.
